Marine Crane Safety Automations: In the above posted video, I’ve tested the safeties concerning the class surveyor (RINA).
This retrofit project is performed to remove the previously initiated N.C.(s), via upgrade over the remote controller & safety system for the crane.
It must be noted that due to lack of vital and imperative safeties over the crane, the marine class surveyor had initiated non-conformities.
By means of the ZMZ-002586 crane remote controller & safety automation system, presently all class-concerned safeties have been established.
Marine Crane Safety Automations & Electro-Hydraulic Crane’s remote controller (ZMZ0025xx series) system Retrofit Project carried out.

Marine use strategies embedded to our products (intelligent marine use automation systems),
including the Electro-Hydraulic Crane’s Remote Control and Safety.
The captioned Electro-Hydraulic Crane, here is consisting of the “Open-Loop” type hydraulic circuit, comprising the variable pitch displacement pump (Parker), hydraulic hoist, luff and slewing motors and gearboxes.
Moreover, the movements are being controlled via a triplex set combined proportional valve and Speed-Torque-Control (STC) valves located on.
The joystick command are being processed by the PLC and essential output signals are being produced and presented in the Proportional Amplifiers.
The outputs of the amplifiers are driving the proportional valve and the “Hoist Slack Wire” Limit Switch, the hoist and luffing “Encoders” and the pressure and temperature transmitters.
The analogue signal transmitters are including the following items:
- oil level transmitter
- Oil temperature transmitter
- Load Measuring Pin
- Pressure transmitters
All above items are acting as the feedbacks of the system to monitor the process by PLC and generate the imperative safety signals to control the crane in the several directions.

The Marine Crane Safety Automations & Electro-Hydraulic Crane remote controller Retrofit Project is comprising of the following parts:
- Extendable 7″ basic SIEMENS HMI(s)
- The wise core of the SIEMENS PLC (the marine approved type) 1217c as the central processing unit.
- The extension units over the PLC to perform signal acquisition.
- Control joysticks to perform input command signals.
- Several temperature and pressure transmitters to monitor the process.
- Output amplifiers and electro-hydraulic actuators (proportional and servo valves).

The HMI is tailor-made and manipulated for the Crane-Operator and Crane-Engineer use to monitor the on-going process, editing the parameters, adjusting the parameters related to the Encoder, Joystick-Levers and Output Proportional Valves; Moreover, many other useful data, including the RPM of the hoisting and luffing winches, the paying-out & heaving-in lengths in meters, crane static and dynamic load and etc. are at the disposal of the staff on HMI.
