In this project an electro-hydraulic marine heavy lift crane barge retrofitted.
Marine Heavy Lift Safety by means of the remote control & safety system (RCS-ZMZ-002586-HL) carried out (safe lifting capacity = 3.3 K Tons SWL).
This heavy lift crane comprising four sets of the lifting hooks, and containing a fixed A-Frame, obsolete remote controller & safety system renovated.
This product comprising the cutting edge technology from SIEMENS as the platform & RCS-ZMZ-002586 as the intelligent software.
Marine Heavy Lift Safety & Remote Controller systems are implemented over the SIEMENS marine approved PLC platform.
Marine Heavy Lift Safety system renovated the obsolete analogue controller & upgraded the safeties of the marine heavy lift crane.
The remote control system (RASHBM RCS-ZMZ-002586) is triggering the relevant amplifier cards, to control the electro-hydraulic actuators.
The Rexroth marine amplifiers are triggering the output PWM signals and relevantly triggering the electro-hydraulic servo valves.
The servo valves located on the hydraulic valve blocks to move the swash plates (pitch of the hydraulic pumps), in the consequent direction.
The Hydraulic pump provides hydraulic flow to move the hydraulic motors in the desired direction of the heaving winches of the marine heavy lift crane.
To monitor the safeties related to the hoist movements, we’ve established encoders.
Encoders are connected to the PLC inputs of the as the major safety to the heavy lift crane.
The overspeed prevention safeties over the lowering hook movement has been monitored.
- Moreover, many other useful data, including the RPM of the hoisting winches (to establish overspeed prevention), crane #staticLoad (through the #LMP) and #dynamicload (through the pressure transmitters) and etc. are at the disposal of the staff on HMI (s) & through the marine strategical software are forming the essential databases to establish the “Speed-Torque-Controller” ( (#STC) as the safety) to the marine heavy lift crane barge retrofitted system.
- The Electro-Hydraulic Crane is consisting of the “Closed-Loop” type hydraulic circuit, comprising the hydraulic feed pump & variable pitch displacement pump (#Parker), hydraulic hoist motors and gearboxes; moreover the movements are being controlled the amplifier cards & servo valves located on the hydraulic pumps.
- The joystick commands are being processed by the PLC and essential output signals are being produced and presented in the servo Amplifiers (part of the retrofit project); the outputs of the amplifiers are driving the servo valve located on the hydraulic pumps onboard the marine heavy lift crane barge.
- Moreover, for the safety reasons the Limit Switches, the hoist and luffing “Encoders” and the pressure and temperature transmitters, including the oil level transmitter are acting as the feedbacks of the system to monitor the process by PLC and generate the imperative safety signals to control the hoist hooks of the crane in both directions & prevent overspeed during the lowering function.
The remote control system (RCS-ZMZ-002586-HL) comprising two independent stations to provide monitoring.
Marine Heavy Lift Safety station’s monitoring are provided through the touch SIEMENS HMI(s) distributed over the SIEMENS PROFINET.
Simultaneously, marine approved type joysticks from the prominent marine maker “PENNY + GILES” installed for the heavy lift crane.
The RCS-ZMZ-002586 control & safety system’s central panel comprising local HMI to monitor the safeties.
Marine Heavy Lift Safety system related to the heavy lift crane barge retrofitted to provide local data & parameters for the engineers onboard the maritime barge.
To monitor the load over the hooks, we’ve established dual safety work load monitoring system through the “Load Measuring Pin” to monitor the static load.
The Pressure Transmitters to monitor the dynamic load are installed for the Marine Heavy Lift Safety system.
Transmitters, together with the strategical marine software embedded into the RCS-ZMZ-002586 product, which is retrofitted onboard the marine heavy lift crane barge.
