One of the recent targeted vessels renovated using the RCS-ZMZ-002576-79 under SIEMENS marine approved platform:

An ASD marine Push-Tug comprising of: two sets of the marine Niigata engines (2x 6L25HX, 2x1343KW) & two sets of the marine thrusters (Z-Peller hydraulic).

Attended obsolete safety & control systems over the steering system ( hydraulic azimuth system from SUMITOMO & MOOG controller – J062 series).

Attended the marine gearbox from NICO under-licensed from Twin-Disk (USA) and Smooth-Clutch controller ( Slipping-Clutch) system.

Pneumatic E/P controller (through the changeover valves common in between the Clutch & Governor) renovated and sub-routine safeties retrofitted.

Main challenges over the steering controller were:

1-The PLC based controller should drive the obsolete servo-valve (Moog j062 series) over the Sumitomo hydraulic pump (Moog j062 containing the Mechanical Feedback).

Two sets of the intelligent closed-loop control systems established to trigger the servo-mechanism, and Moog amplifier-cards hired to drive the servo valves. 

The PLC is controlling dual amplifier cards (receiving two individual closed loop feedback signals), and so monitors the azimuth-angle feedback & the MFB of the valve.

The mechanical-feedback is embedded in the servo-valve and it’s signal receives by the PLC and processes in the ingenuity-employed subroutine software.

2-The second challenge was more determinative, because aimed to upgrade the 180 degree rotation of the azimuth thrusters (original Japanese model) to 360 degree.

The performed retrofit had to brought about an improved maneuvering strategy to let the 360 degree azimuth-rotation over the thrusters, and therefore upgraded her to a nimble ASD.

Intelligent software embedded in the RCS-ZMZ-002576-79 strategies and so the fantastically improved the maritime vessel’s maneuvering abilities in the several angles.

Full safeties over the gearbox and Z-Peller azimuth steering established and a cutting-edge controller system from RASHBM implemented and fine tuning carried-out.

OMEGA controller upgrade: Slipping-clutch (an option to Japanese-made gearbox to enable the Omega-Control functionality) established and so brought into service, more precisely.

Full safeties and controls over the engines, including the remote start, stop and Blow-Through functions established, via the user-friendly HMI touch screen.

A ground-breaking technology through the SIEMENS marine-approved PLC (SIEMENS 1217C), observing the ZMZ series software embedded to the safety and control systems.

The remote controller & safety system (RCS-ZMZ-002576-79) brought about a hassle-free 360 degree azimuth operation over the Azimuth-Stern-Drive maritime vessel.

Speed monitoring over the engines established by means of the KOYO encoders, because provides feedback to the marine-SSU to precisely monitor the RPM and process it.

Final sea-trial carried-out, all safeties tested by the classification society’s surveyor, marine approval certificates issued and eventually, the maritime-vessel delivered to the owner.
